Ueno Park (上野公園), formally Ueno Onshi Koen (上野恩賜公園), is a well-known public park in Tokyo. For details about this place, see the article on Ueno Park.
Many events are held throughout the year in this park. As one of them, the Satsuki Festival (さつきフェスティバル) is held in late May.

Satsuki Festival

The satsuki is a type species of azaleas which bloom in late May unlike ordinary azaleas which bloom in late April to May.
At the Satsuki Festival held in late May at Ueno Park, many bonsai of satsuki trees were exhibited in Ueno Park until recently.
Nowadays, not many of the satsuki bonsai are exhibited in the park, and many are exhibited at the Ueno Green Club.

The Ueno Green Club is an exhibition facility which belong to the Nippon Bonsai Association.
Nowadays, most of the bonsai of satsuki trees are displayed here.

Kinshu-ten

In October, bonsai of satsuki are displayed once again at Ueno Park, though they are not bearing flowers this time. This event is called the Kinshu-ten (錦秋展).
