Ueno SatsukiUeno Park (上野公園), formally Ueno Onshi Koen (上野恩賜公園), is a public park well-known as a sightseeing spot in Tokyo. It used to be part of the precincts of Kan'eiji Temple in the feudal times. For details about this park, see the article on Ueno Park.
Many events are held throughout the year in this park. As one of them, the Satsuki Festival (さつきフェスティバル) is held in late May.

Satsuki Festival

At the Satsuki Festival held in late May at Ueno Park, many bonsai of satsuki trees are exhibited outdoor (admission free). The satsuki is a type species of azaleas which bloom in late May unlike ordinary azaleas which bloom in late April to early May.
