Takami Senseki Kinenkan used to be the residence of Takami Senseki, a samurai and scholar who is well-known to local people, though it's now half the size of what it used to be.

Shusuisodo, constructed in 1891, was the studio of Nanga (not Manga!) painter Okuhara Seiko. It is located next to Takami Senseki Kinenkan.

Sakacho used to be a store whose buildings were constucted in the Edo era. It was donated to the city and was recently converted into a cafe & restaurant and a souvenir shop.
