Kotokuin is a Jodo Buddhist temple. Here sits the iconic statue of Amitabha Buddha, probably created in the 13th century. It's the second largest statue of Buddha created in the pre-modern era, though in modern times larger Buddha statues have been erected elsewhere.

Enoshima - Guide

This area belongs to Fujisawa City legally but many people enjoy this area along with Kamakura.

Enoshima Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in Enoshima Island, a small island whole of which used to be dedicated to this shrine and is now connected to the main land with a bridge. The shrine consists of three sub-shrines, Hetsu-miya, Nakatsu-miya, and Okutsu-miya, all located separately around the island and are connected by a pathway in this order.

If you go further on along the pathway connecting the sub-shrines of Enoshima from Okutsu-miya to the rocky seashore, there emerge two caves facing the sea. They are now operated by Fujisawa City as a tourist site but one of them used to be where the Enoshima Jinja originated in 552 and a small stone shrine still stands in the recess.
