Nishiarai-daishi, formally Sojiji, is a pretty large Shingon Buddhist temple. In spring, its peony garden will be open to the public (admission free).

Hanabatake Kinen Garden is a Japanese stroll garden created in 1982.

Shibamata Taishakuten, formally Daikyoji, is a medium-sized Nichren Buddhist temple. Walking around the main part of its temple precincts is admission free but 400yen is needed if you want to look at its Japanese garden and the sculptures surrounding one of its buildings.

Yamamoto-tei, completed in 1930, was the residence of a successful local businessman. It is located near Shibamata Taishakuten Temple.

Nanzoin is a Tendai Buddhist temple with well-maintained precincts. An event called Nawatoki-kuyo is held on New Year's Eve at this temple.

Ishihama Jjinja is a Shinto shrine near the San'ya district.

Horikiri Iris Garden is a not-so-large Japanese garden with 6,000 irises which bloom in around mid-June. CLOSED UNTIL March 2018

Shiroyama Kumano Jinja is a Shinto shrine which displays many ema pictures.

Jorenji is a Jodo Buddhist temple with well-maintained precincts. It is also known as Tokyo Daibutsu, since there's a large statue of Budda sitting on the temple grounds.

Shogetsuin is a Soto Zen temple with well-maintained precincts. It is located near Jorenji.

An'yoin is a Shingon Buddhist temple with well-maintained precincts. There are Toshincho Hikawa Shrine and Tokiwadai Tenso Shrine on your way to this temple from Tokiwadai Staion, also.

Kameido Tenjin is a Shinto shrine in the eastern part of Tokyo. It is famous for its wisteria flowers which bloom from late April to early May, and during this period, the Fuji-matsuri will be held.

Zen'yoji is a Shingon Buddhist temple with an impressive pine tree.

Ichinoe Nanushi Yashiki, constructed in the Edo era, was the residence of a local rich farmer.

Choshoji is a beautifully maintained Nichiren Buddhist temple near Kannoji Temple.

Kannoji is a neatly maintained Nichiren Buddhist temple close to Choshoji Temple.

Hirai-Shoten, formally Tomyoji, is a Shingon Buddhist temple with a relatively large Hondo. There's a small house museum across the river from this temple, too.
